Let's face it, getting out of bed at 5 in the morning on your day off is hard... But if you're willing to make the sacrifice of a little sleep and undertake the 3-hour drive, you can expect to be greeted by the beauty of first light caressing the mountaintops and reflecting on the waves. Was I cold? Yes. Was the wind terrible? Yes! But for a shot like this, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have driven past this lake a dozen times on my way through Jasper, but this was the first time I stopped to take some photos there, and I was not disappointed. In addition to the beautiful sunrise light on the mountains, I also got to capture some of the ice along the edge of the lake. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did taking them!
